⛩ Dragon Ball Super (commonly abbreviated as DBS) is the fourth animated installment of the Dragon Ball franchise, which aired from July 5, 2015, to March 25, 2018. It takes place between episodes 288 and 289 of Dragon Ball Z and is the first Dragon Ball television series to present a new storyline in 18 years since the final episode of Dragon Ball GT in 1997.
The manga Dragon Ball Super was produced alongside the anime. The series was developed by Toei, following a similar process to the Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and the movies Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'. The storyline takes place after the Kid Buu saga, in the ten-year gap before the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament.
