He has only the worst sides of Son Goten and Trunks which makes him a selfish, rude, pretentious and extremely self-confident warrior. Furthermore, when he transforms, much to Piccolo's chagrin, his execrable personality is intensified, as are his powers.

From Gotenks' character, it can be assumed that he is partly dominated by Trunks, the stronger and older of the two boys. His thoughtless mockery of Boo and his sense of invulnerability are unmistakably reminiscent of Vegeta, Trunks' father.
