⛩ Makomo and Sabito were both orphaned from their respective families and adopted by Sakonji, who trained them both and allowed them to attend the Demon Slayers Army Final Selection.
During his seven days on Mount Fujikasane, Makomo encountered a powerful shapeshifting demon, this demon claiming to have eaten many of Sakonji's children. The demon said he hoped the old man felt responsible, and Makomo, overwhelmed by emotion and with no control over his movements, was quickly torn apart by the demon, left to join the ranks of the other children he had already killed.
Despite his death, and thanks to the strength of his soul's desire for revenge, Makomo remained to haunt the woods where Tanjiro was training, enabling him to grow stronger.
