⛩ The Beherit, also known as the "Egg of the King" or "Egg of the Conqueror," is a "stone" shaped like an egg but with a mouth, nose, and two eyes arranged chaotically on it.
From time to time, an eye opens to gaze at the one or ones manipulating the stone. According to legend, whoever possesses the Beherit will reign over the entire world at the cost of their life and blood.
There are two types of Beherit: the gray ones, which are normal, and the vermillion reds, of which only five exist. The gray ones allow their bearers to become Apostles, while the red ones grant the power of the God Hand.
A Beherit is chosen for a specific individual and will attach itself to that person. Even if they lose it, the Beherit will eventually find them at the right moment. An inactive Beherit typically protects its bearer by increasing their luck; however, a bearer will develop a growing ambition that generally leads to their downfall.
In Berserk, Griffith is the bearer of the last Vermillion Beherit, the strongest of all. This Beherit protects him but at the same time drives him to acts of excessive ambition, greater than that of normal Apostles, destined to rule the world as dictated by his dream.
