Yukio Okumura
Yukio Okumura is the twin brother of Rin. Unlike his sibling, he did not inherit the demonic powers of their father, Satan, due to his frail constitution at birth (though this differs in the anime adaptation—see below). However, Yukio possesses the rare ability to see demons, a trait he has had since early childhood.

Appearance
Yukio wears dark-framed glasses and has striking turquoise-blue eyes, brown hair, and three distinct moles (two beneath his left eye and one near his mouth). He is known for his tidy, professional attire, which stands in stark contrast to his brother's casual style. His serious demeanor carries over into his formidable combat skills.
In the anime, following the awakening of his demonic heritage in episode 22, Yukio exhibits the same physical traits as Rin even in human form, such as slightly pointed ears and sharpened canines. In his full demonic state, he manifests blue flames, elven ears, and prominent fangs.
He inherited his turquoise and dark blue eyes from his mother, Yuri, while maintaining his signature dark brown hair.
Personality
Yukio is generally perceived as calm and soft-spoken, though he possesses a complex, almost dualistic temperament. While he usually maintains a polite smile, he can be easily provoked by Rin's reckless behavior. Although he is deeply serious, Rin occasionally manages to help him relax and share a laugh. On several occasions, Yukio has displayed a surprisingly aggressive side; when pushed to his limit, his intense fury can even frighten Rin. This volatility may be a psychological manifestation of his demonic lineage. He is strictly punctual and frequently lectures Rin on proper conduct.
He has a strong distaste for "indecent" or immature behavior and strives to remain composed at all times. As the story progresses, Yukio’s frustration grows as Rin consistently places himself in harm's way. While Rin eventually embraces his identity as the son of Satan, Yukio struggles to accept this reality, leading to a strain in their brotherly bond.
History
Yukio is the younger twin of Rin. While their father’s power was meant to be shared between them, Yukio's weak constitution at birth prevented him from inheriting the flames. However, he received a "mashou" (spirit wound) at birth, allowing him to see demons his entire life—a burden Rin did not share until later. To protect his brother, Yukio began secret training as an Exorcist at the age of seven under the guidance of Shiro Fujimoto. By the time they both enrolled as first-year students at True Cross Academy, Yukio was already a genius-level instructor teaching anti-demon pharmacology to his own brother’s class. He holds the prestigious rank of Middle First Class Exorcist (Dragoon).
Growing up, Yukio felt a quiet resentment toward Rin. While he spent his childhood in grueling training to become a protector, Rin lived a carefree life. This sense of lost childhood occasionally fueled a deep-seated jealousy toward his older brother.

Powers and Abilities
Yukio is a prodigious Exorcist, having been mentored by the legendary Paladin Shiro Fujimoto. He earned his official license at the age of thirteen and became the youngest instructor in the Order's history at fifteen, specializing in anti-demon pharmacology.
Medical Expertise (Doctor)
Despite his age, Yukio's medical skills are world-class. He successfully treated Noriko Paku's severe injuries caused by a Naberius and has demonstrated advanced knowledge of cell biology. During the "Impure King" incident, he performed high-precision needlework on miasmic infections without damaging cell membranes—all while being infected by miasma himself. Since they were children, Yukio has always been the one to patch up Rin's wounds after his many street fights.
As a Meister in the Doctor class, his pedagogical skills are equally impressive, making him a highly respected authority in his field despite being a teenager.
Dragoon
Yukio is an expert marksman, utilizing dual handguns to dispatch demons with lethal precision from a distance.
Demon Form (Anime Only)
In the original anime adaptation, Yukio's latent demonic blood allows him to serve as a perfect vessel for Satan. He gains access to blue flames and exhibits physical demonic traits.
While the full demonic transformation is anime-exclusive, the "Kyoto Impure King" arc in the manga suggests Yukio did indeed inherit a portion of Satan's power. This is highlighted when his vision turns blue and he survives a fall from a great height by inadvertently triggering a power that leaves a massive crater in the ground.
