Ryōta Kise
Ryōta Kise is a prominent member of the legendary Generation of Miracles. Having honed his skills at Teikō Junior High, he now serves as the ace of Kaijō High School. Kise is feared on the court for his "Copy" ability, allowing him to replicate virtually any basketball technique after seeing it only once.

Appearance
As a professional model, Kise possesses a naturally striking appearance. He has medium-length blond hair and golden eyes framed by long lashes. Standing tall with an athletic build, he also sports a distinctive piercing in his left ear. On the court, he wears the Kaijō white and blue jersey with the number 7, while his off-court style usually involves his school uniform: a gray vest, white shirt, and black tie.
Personality
Kise is outgoing, carefree, and seeks to befriend everyone—even the more stoic characters like Midorima. He shows his respect by adding the suffix "-cchi" to the names of those he admires (e.g., Kurokocchi, Aominecchi) and frequently ends his sentences with the polite "-su".
While generally lighthearted, Kise is a fierce and determined competitor. Initially, influenced by Teikō's "winning is everything" philosophy, he was a solitary player who prioritized individual dominance over teamwork. However, his first defeat at the hands of Seirin sparked a deep transformation. He began to trust his teammates, eventually evolving into a leader who understands that faith in others is what truly unlocks his "Perfect Copy."
History
The Teikō Past
Before basketball, Kise excelled at every sport he tried, but grew bored due to a lack of challenge. This changed when he witnessed Daiki Aomine playing. Inspired by Aomine's raw talent, Kise joined the basketball club and rose to the first string in record time. It was here he met Tetsuya Kuroko, who was assigned as his personal instructor. Though initially skeptical of Kuroko's small stature, Kise quickly learned to respect Kuroko’s unique "Misdirection" and the vital role he played in the team's success.
Skills & Abilities
Kise is arguably the most versatile player in the series. His physical prowess is elite, allowing him to play all five positions effectively. His true genius, however, lies in his adaptive learning.
The Copy Ability
Kise can replicate any move he sees, often performing it with more power or speed than the original user. While he cannot copy the other members of the Generation of Miracles with his base ability, he has a vast "library" of high-level techniques from other players stored in his memory.
Perfect Copy
The pinnacle of his talent is the Perfect Copy. By using his own physical attributes to compensate for what he lacks, he can finally mimic the "Miracles."
- Midorima’s Shot: High-arcing, full-court accuracy.
- Aomine’s Agility: Formless shots and unpredictable crossovers.
- Murasakibara’s Defense: Intense blocking power and reflexes.
- Akashi’s Emperor Eye: Predicting the opponent's movements.
This state is so taxing that it initially lasts for only five minutes, making it Kaijō’s ultimate trump card.
The Zone
During the Extra Game against Team Jabberwock, Kise achieved the impossible: combining Perfect Copy with The Zone. In this state, he becomes arguably the most powerful player on the court, capable of overwhelming even world-class opponents like Jason Silver. However, the energy consumption is astronomical, leaving him completely exhausted after use.
