Naoto Tachibana
Naoto Tachibana is a young man of 25 and the younger brother of Hinata Tachibana. Driven by a fierce determination to save his sister from a tragic fate, he became a police lieutenant.
As Takemichi Hanagaki's essential ally, he serves as the "trigger" that allows Takemichi to travel through time and alter the future.

Appearance
The Past
In the past, Naoto is a frail young boy with an innocent face. He is typically seen wearing his standard school uniform, consisting of a button-down collared shirt, a belt, black trousers, and loafers.

As an adult, Naoto carries a much more serious and determined expression, reflecting the weight of his profession. As a police lieutenant, he is almost exclusively seen wearing a sharp, professional suit and tie.
Personality
In the present timeline, Naoto is a man of exemplary integrity, entirely devoted to protecting his sister. Possessing a pragmatic mind, he is willing to accept the impossible—such as time travel—to achieve his goal. He is deeply committed to his investigations, never hesitating to put himself in harm's way to dismantle the Tokyo Manji Gang (Toman).
He also possesses a dry, biting wit. For instance, he openly expresses surprise at the success of Takemichi, whom he initially viewed as an unreliable individual or a "loser."

Hanagaki Takemichi
Naoto serves as Takemichi's logistical anchor in the present. He uses his police clearance to provide crucial information on Toman members. While their relationship begins with a degree of polite disdain from Naoto, it evolves into deep mutual respect. He eventually sees Takemichi as a true hero, even sacrificing his own life to protect him in certain timelines.
Hinata Tachibana
Love for his sister is the primary engine behind all of his actions. Naoto devotes every moment of his adult life to preventing her death. As children, their relationship is that of a typical brother and sister: he is often annoyed by the romantic moments between Hina and Takemichi and does not hesitate to rudely interrupt them.

The Time Leap Trigger
The symbiosis between Naoto's desire to save his sister and Takemichi's willpower created a unique time-travel ability. Naoto acts as the anchor: a handshake between them in the present sends Takemichi 12 years into the past, and vice versa. Naoto is the only person (besides Takemichi) who retains his memories of previous timelines after a leap.

As a lieutenant, Naoto possesses outstanding deductive skills and access to confidential databases. He is also trained in firearms, demonstrating impressive composure during critical situations where force is required to protect Takemichi.
Story Overview
Naoto's fate changed forever the day Takemichi, returned from the future, saved him from a group of bullies. Takemichi entrusted him with a vital mission: protect his sister Hinata and remember the date July 1st, 2017. This message radically altered Naoto's life, leading him to join the police force to counter the threat of the Tokyo Manji Gang. Although he cannot always prevent his sister's death in every timeline, he remains the indispensable architect behind every rescue attempt orchestrated by Takemichi.
