Meliodas is the Dragon Sin of Wrath and the legendary leader of the Seven Deadly Sins. As the primary protagonist of the series, he spent years operating the Boar Hat, a mobile tavern known for its excellent ale and questionable food. He wields the Sacred Treasure Lostvayne and is a master of the Full Counter ability. Beyond his role as a captain, Meliodas harbors a dark past as the former leader of the Ten Commandments and the eldest son of the Demon King.

Personality
Meliodas often presents himself as a carefree, childish, and occasionally lecherous boy. He frequently teases Elizabeth with perverse antics, yet he possesses the unshakable charisma of a natural leader. In battle, however, his lighthearted nature vanishes. When his demonic mark is activated, he becomes cold and ruthless. This reaches its peak in his Assault Mode, where he discards all emotions, reverting to the heartless demon feared 3,000 years ago.
History
The Ancient Past (3,000+ Years Ago)
As the eldest son of the Demon King, Meliodas was once the most feared being in existence. Known for his terrifying strength and disregard for life, he led the Ten Commandments and was the heir apparent to the Demon Throne. However, his fate changed when he met the Goddess Elizabeth. His love for her led him to betray the Demon Clan, an act that effectively triggered the Great Holy War. For their "sins," the couple was cursed: Meliodas with Eternal Life (returning from death at the cost of his emotions) and Elizabeth with Eternal Reincarnation.
The Danafor Incident
Roughly 16 years ago, Meliodas served as a Great Holy Knight in the Kingdom of Danafor. It was here that he met Liz, a reincarnation of Elizabeth. When the demon Fraudrin orchestrated Liz's death, Meliodas' wrath exploded, completely obliterating the kingdom. He emerged from the ruins with a newborn baby—the next reincarnation of Elizabeth—and eventually arrived in Liones to form the Seven Deadly Sins under King Baltra's vision.
The Baste Dungeon Arc
Following the frame-up ten years ago, Meliodas reunited with Elizabeth and began a journey to gather his former comrades. After recruiting Diane, they headed to Baste Dungeon to rescue Ban, the Fox Sin of Greed. Despite the illusions cast by the Weird Fangs and the interference of the Holy Knight Golgius, Meliodas' resolve never wavered. His reunion with Ban—marked by a "friendly" arm-wrestling match that leveled the entire fortress—reignited the power of the Seven Deadly Sins.
The Capital of the Dead Arc
With Ban back in the fold, the group sought out King, the Grizzly Sin of Sloth. In the Capital of the Dead, Meliodas confronted the complexities of his team's past, helping King and Ban resolve their grievances regarding Elaine. Throughout these battles, Meliodas displayed his signature Full Counter, reflecting magic with devastating force, and hinted at the vast, dark power he still kept suppressed to protect those around him.
Capacities and Magic
- Full Counter: Meliodas' primary magic, allowing him to reflect magical attacks aimed at him back at the enemy with more than double the original power.
- Hellblaze: An enchantment that allows him to generate black demonic flames that negate regeneration.
- Lostvayne: His Sacred Treasure allows him to create physical clones of himself, each possessing a fraction of his power, perfect for utilizing Full Counter against multiple targets.
