Mash Burnedead
Mash Burnedead is the main protagonist of the series Mashle. A first-year student at Easton Magic Academy and a member of the Adler dormitory, Mash was abandoned in his childhood due to the absence of a magical mark, meaning he is incapable of using magic.

Regro Burnedead took in and raised Mash far from the big cities, hiding him from society while teaching him self-defence. Their peaceful life is turned upside down the day Mash goes into town to buy cream puffs. Noticed by Brad Coleman due to the absence of a magical mark, Brad goes to Mash’s home and injures Regro. After a fierce confrontation, Mash agrees to join the magic academy to protect their peace. This leads him to set his goal of becoming a Divine Visionary.
Appearance of Mash
Mash is a young man with pale (slightly tanned) skin, of average height, with black hair cut in a bowl style and yellow eyes. A false magical mark in the shape of a lightning bolt, created by Brad Coleman, was visible on his left cheek (removed in Chapter 162). He has a muscular build and often wears a stoic and expressionless face.
Mash wears two main outfits:
- School Uniform: A white shirt, black trousers, a red tie, brown shoes, and a black cape.
- Training Outfit: A tight black bodysuit with white shorts, and often, he is barefoot.
Personality of Mash
Mash is a kind and quiet boy, displaying little emotion, even in difficult situations. However, he becomes extremely angry when someone close to him is hurt.

- Innocence and Obedience: These qualities sometimes make him susceptible to manipulation, but his strength allows him to escape difficult situations.
- Frankness and Humor: Mash often says blunt or insulting things without filter, which can be amusing.

Mash favours peaceful solutions, even when facing formidable opponents. Despite his incredible strength, he finds no enjoyment in fighting.

- Iron Wand: An extremely heavy wand that Mash wields thanks to his superhuman strength.
- Wrist Weights: They limit his power, as his uncontrollable muscles can cause damage.
- Cream Puffs: His favourite snack, which he always carries with him.

Mash was born without a magical mark, but he compensates for this handicap with techniques based on his phenomenal physical strength:

Mash excels in combat but struggles in academic subjects. His practical exams are his main saving grace. Despite persistent efforts, he only achieves mediocre scores.
