Appearance

Laffitte is a very tall character, standing at 3.40 m. He wears a black hat, a fuchsia cane, and an open yellow-crossed shirt over his chest, paired with a purple overall. He also sports clogs, which he seems to know how to use, along with earrings.
Moreover, Laffitte has pale skin, accentuated by lipstick in the same color as his cane. He doesn’t appear very muscular; instead, he is slender and elongated. His hair is long, black with violet undertones. His eyes are large and have a rather strange shape, resembling those of an owl.
After the time skip, he dons a new cape with a feathery collar. His shirt now has yellow dots instead of crosses.
Personality
| Discover our Roronoa Zoro POP Figure |
Laffitte apparently lived in West Blue and worked as a peacekeeper. However, he was exiled due to his excessive cruelty and violence. Now, Laffitte seems to have become a calm and relatively cheerful person. At least, he has not yet displayed the same cruelty he once did. He does not seek to fight alongside his crew when they face Ace, instead choosing to step back and observe, which gives him a rather mysterious air.
He has also shown that, since his introduction, Laffitte appears to possess good eloquence with those around him, even when threatening to kill people, such as when Avalo Pizarro tried to take the captain’s place in Blackbeard’s crew. He is almost always depicted striking an elegant dancer’s pose. He also tends to be quite sarcastic, as he reveals he hypnotized Marine soldiers to open the Gate of Justice while smiling and laughed when one of Whitebeard’s crew members was outraged by what Blackbeard did to Whitebeard.
Like the rest of the Blackbeard Crew, Laffitte is a fanatic of dreams, destiny, and luck.
Unique Laugh
As with most One Piece characters, Laffitte has a unique style of laughter: “Hohohohohoho…”
Skills and Abilities

Navigator Skills
Laffitte guides the rest of the Blackbeard Crew during their voyages. His level as a navigator is still unknown, but it is assumed that he must be quite competent to navigate through the New World. It’s important to note that he does not possess a Log Pose, a tool essential for navigating.
Weapons
Laffitte carries a cane, which he sometimes uses to complement his clogs during dancing; at the moment, it is unclear if this cane can be used as a weapon. During Whitebeard’s murder, he used a pistol.
Other Skills
In addition to being a navigator, Laffitte has demonstrated several other abilities. He has the power to grow wings and fly; so far, it is unknown whether this ability comes from a Devil Fruit. He can also move at incredible speeds, a technique similar to Soru. During the Marineford Arc, when his crew storms the Marine Headquarters with the freed prisoners, Laffitte claims to have hypnotized Marines to open the Gates of Justice; again, it is unclear if this ability is linked to a Devil Fruit.
Laffitte managed to infiltrate Marie-Joie without being detected by Vice-Admirals and even the Seven Warlords. The fact that he was able to reach the meeting room in Mary Geoise, undoubtedly one of the most secure locations in the world, without being detected, suggests he has an incredibly unique way of moving.

Backstory
Past
Laffitte was once a peacekeeper in West Blue, but he was exiled due to his brutal and violent treatment of prisoners. Following his banishment, he joined the Blackbeard Crew as their navigator. Shortly after joining, his crew attacked the Island of Drum, forcing its king, Wapol, to flee.
Saga: Skypiea
Arc Jaya
Laffitte travels to Marie-Joie, the seat of the World Government, to participate in a meeting and present Blackbeard’s candidacy for the vacant position of Warlord of the Sea left by Crocodile.
Saga CP9
Arc Post-Enies Lobby
Laffitte reappears on the Island of Banaro, pillaging it alongside his crew. Ace appears, having finally tracked down Teach, and a battle ensues between Marshall D. Teach and Ace. Laffitte does not intervene in the fight, instead merely watching from the sidelines. He deftly dodges Ace's attacks, unlike his crew members Jesus Burgess and Van Augur.
Saga: War of the Best
Arc Impel Down
Laffitte is seen with the Blackbeard Pirates as they infiltrate Impel Down, rather than being at Marineford with the other Warlords. They cross paths with Luffy and his allies during their escape, delving deeper into the prison.
Later, they encounter Magellan, who quickly subdues them with his Hydra technique. However, the entire crew is saved by an antidote provided by Shiliew, who joins Blackbeard’s crew. They then recruit dangerous prisoners from Level 6 and head toward Marineford.
Arc Marineford
Laffitte and his crew burst into Marineford on the execution platform during the war's climax. Laffitte reveals to Sengoku that before heading to Impel Down, he hypnotized the guards in the control room to open the Gates of Justice whenever a ship would arrive, allowing Luffy and others to enter Marineford. He participated in the assassination of Whitebeard, attacking him with a pistol.

Following the death of Whitebeard, his crew draped his body in a black veil under which Teach entered. Upon emerging, he unleashed the powers of the Gura Gura no Mi. Laffitte and his crewmates were later attacked by a shockwave launched by Sengoku in his Buddha form. Just as Teach was about to engage in battle with Monkey D. Garp and Sengoku, Shanks arrived on the battlefield. Instead of fighting Shanks and his crew, Blackbeard and his men retreated.
Post-Marineford Arc
The crew entered the New World, capturing Jewelry Bonney along the way to deliver her to the Marine in exchange for a ship. When Pizarro declared that he should be the captain, Laffitte threatened to kill him, reminding him that this was Blackbeard’s Crew. Upon the arrival of the ship, Van Augur alerted their captain to its coming. However, Teach decided the deal would not proceed, as Sakazuki was on board. The crew then fled, leaving Bonney and her allies to be captured.
Rise in Power
During the time skip, the Blackbeard Crew has taken over the former territories of Whitebeard, largely thanks to the knowledge and strategy of their captain. Now an Emperor, Blackbeard’s crew is searching for Devil Fruit users to kill and seize their powers. The crew has divided into ten fleets, with Laffitte assigned as the 5th Commander.
Saga Yonkou
Arc Zou
Laffitte reappears somewhere at sea in the New World, accompanied by Shiliew on one of the Blackbeard Crew’s two raft-ships. Contacted by Burgess via Escargophone, Laffitte informs him that they had been to Dressrosa to fetch him, but he had already left. When Burgess asks for his exact location, the Demonic Sheriff and Shiliew learn he has discovered the Revolutionary Headquarters.
During the Arc Zou, it is revealed that the Blackbeard Pirates won a significant victory over the former Whitebeard Pirates during a war called the "Vengeance War." This victory is believed to have partially solidified Blackbeard’s position as an Emperor!

Arc Whole Cake
