Kikoru Shinomiya

In service, Kikoru wears the standard combat uniform of the Defence Force with her usual arsenal. With Weapon Number 4 as her new personal weapon, she sports a light-coloured, scale-like suit with a long skirt. She has the two Izumo Tech logos (one at the end of the skirt and the other on her chest with the 004 insignia).

In casual attire, she wears a long grey dress.

Personality

Kikoru appears as an arrogant and proud girl, very confident in her ability to humiliate those she considers inferior. She is also very persistent and determined, working hard to constantly improve and become stronger. Even towards higher-ranking officers, she shows her confidence in a more polite and less arrogant manner.

However, Kikoru deeply cares for her comrades and does everything she can to prevent losses or injuries on the battlefield. She is loyal, showing gratitude towards Kafka Hibino for saving her and keeping his secret. Despite her proud and fearless appearance, she cares about the well-being of her allies and goes so far as to ensure their safety or simply support them.

She was very attached to her parents' work as members of the Defence Force, which motivated her to want to join the Force herself. Since the death of her mother, Hikari Shinomiya, Kikoru has developed a deep sense of insecurity, which drives her to become stronger and stronger in order to keep the promise she made to her mother. The pressure of her father Isao Shinomiya’s high expectations further intensifies her need to strengthen herself to prevent the death of her loved ones.

Kikoru is very polite and professional when speaking to her superiors, likely accustomed to addressing military officers due to her upbringing.

Powers and Abilities

General Abilities: Kikoru is the daughter of two renowned former Defence Force soldiers, with prodigious talent. Although she is a first-year recruit, her peers and superiors recognise her combat prowess, allowing her to single-handedly neutralise a horde of Yoju and their Honju with minimal effort. Her exceptional combat skills, coupled with her remarkable unleashed combat power and tactical expertise, have earned her praise from many senior officers.

After receiving Weapon Number 4 from Captain Gen Narumi, her already exceptional physical attributes further evolved, enabling her to easily train with Gen himself and eliminate kaiju with a fortitude level of 7.0. The suit also allows her to temporarily fight at the same level as a Kaiju identified as Kaiju No. 15.

Powers

Flight: By using Weapon Number 4, Kikoru can travel long distances at extreme speeds.

Unleashed Combat Power: Although she is a recruit, Kikoru can release 46% of the power of her combat suit on her first attempt. After training, she can unleash up to 94% of her suit’s power in a stable form.

Enhanced Strength: Kikoru’s strength, when wearing her combat suit, is sufficient to lift a car with one hand. Her physical strength is further enhanced when using Weapon Number 4, allowing her to fight on equal terms with more powerful opponents.

Enhanced Speed: While wearing her uniform, Kikoru can run much faster than most of her peers. With Weapon Number 4, known to be the fastest weapon in the Defence Force, Kikoru can move and fight faster than even trained soldiers can follow.

Enhanced Endurance: Kikoru’s suit is durable enough to prevent an attack from Kaiju No. 9 from killing her, although the shot can still tear the suit. Even when severely injured, she can continue fighting.

Skills

Axe Mastery: Kikoru is highly skilled in the use of the axe, earning it as her personal weapon. Her level of skill and combat performance now resembles that of a division captain.

Combat Style

Squadron Style Axe Techniques:

1. Falling Thunder: By pulling the trigger on the axe, she creates a shockwave resulting in a vicious axe strike.
2. Water Strike: Sends a shockwave forward at the moment of impact, creating a powerful and clean cut.
3. Half-Moon: A brutal rotating axe strike.
4. Twin Swallows: A pair of cross axe strikes, resulting in a fast attack.
5. Daruma Fall: An attack consisting of four horizontal rotating strikes, from the head to the legs of the target.
6. Ten Strikes: A variation of the Daruma Fall where Kikoru performs ten strikes instead of four.

Equipment

Combat Suit: Kikoru wears the standard combat suit on the battlefield.

Respiratory Mask: Kikoru wears a respiratory mask in combat.

Weapon Number 4: Like her mother, Hikari Shinomiya, Kikoru is compatible with Weapon Number 4, a special suit made from the remains of Kaiju No. 4. It is the fastest weapon in the Defence Force and the only one capable of flight.

Combat Axes:

1. First Combat Axe (destroyed): A "failed prototype" with a trigger that releases a shockwave.
2. Second Combat Axe: A second combat axe marked AX-0113.

Giant Sword: After proving her worth to Mina Ashiro and Soshiro Hoshina, Kikoru received a giant sword as her personalised weapon.

Pistol: Kikoru carries a pistol for long-range attacks, equipped with a torch and a laser sight.

Rifle (destroyed): Before receiving her signature axe, Kikoru used a rifle.
