Emporio Ivankov
Emporio Ivankov, nicknamed Iva, "The Miracle Worker" or "The Miracle Maker", is one of the 5 Commanders of the Revolutionary Army and leads the G Army (Grand Line). He is also the queen of the Kamabakka Kingdom. He is a cross-dresser and a powerful and charismatic being who was imprisoned in Impel Down at Level 5, then secretly lived at Level 5.5 of the prison (known as "Newkama Land", or the "paradise of cross-dressers"). He saved Monkey D. Luffy when the latter infiltrated the prison to free his brother Portgas D. Ace and helped him escape. He is also a key figure during the Battle of Marineford. He is also a former slave of the Celestial Dragons.
He is very close to Luffy's father, Monkey D. Dragon, and is a true "goddess" for all the Okama. Due to his Devil Fruit, the Horu Horu no Mi, he appears both as a man and as a woman.

Appearance
Ivankov is a tall human, even taller than Crocodile and Jinbe. He has an unusually large head, enormous long eyelashes, an afro with blue/purple hair, and a notably strange chin that resembles an arrowhead. His afro is thick enough to fit people inside it. He has a Jolly Roger tattooed just below his chest.
As an Okama, he dresses in women's clothing. His clothes are reddish-purple, with heavy makeup. To signal that he is the Queen of Newkama Land and Kedetrav, he wears a queen's crown over a king's crown. His fishnet stockings, hairstyle, makeup, and necklace are all attributes generally associated with a stereotypical Drag Queen representation. Using his Emporio oestrogens on himself, he can become a tall, relatively slim woman. This form is more pleasantly proportioned (relatively speaking) than his male form and is quite well-endowed. Because his clothes are those he wears as an Okama, this appearance is scantily dressed. However, despite the changes brought about by the hormones, he is still incredibly tall and at least twice, if not three times, the size of the Impel Down officer Sadi. When Sanji first met Ivankov, he said that she was exactly his type of woman. He even went so far as to have a nosebleed upon seeing her chest, but was horrified when she turned back into a man due to her Devil Fruit. In various flashbacks where he appears alongside Dragon, Iva is seen wearing a coat and a sort of Hawaiian shirt, and without his crown.
In the anime, when Iva transforms into a woman, he keeps his male voice, unlike other characters who are modified by his powers.
His bounty is unknown, but it is believed to be over 100,000,000 Berries, as he was imprisoned at Level 5 of Impel Down. It is likely that this bounty has increased following the incidents at Impel Down and Marineford. Moreover, when Kuma, as the Pacifista PX-0, identifies Ivankov, he recognises him thanks to a photo where he is seen as a woman, suggesting that the photo on his wanted poster is one of him as a woman.
When he was a slave, he wore a starry suit and a floral vest.
Personality
As an Okama, Ivankov is an effeminate man. He tends to add "buru" at the end of sentences and pronounces the words "Watashi" and "Anata" with a "va" at the beginning (vatashi and vanata). He also sometimes has a habit of proclaiming the exact opposite of a statement he has just made, leading people to believe it before correcting himself. This is part of his sense of humour (such as when he says it wouldn't bother him to be called a "big pile of dung", only to announce that he wouldn't accept being called that). It is worth noting—though not to be overly particular—that when someone uses an honorific suffix (-sama), a normal masculine suffix (-san), or a feminine one (-chan), it suits him just as well. Luffy, for instance, calls him "Iva-chan", while his Okama subordinates call him "Ivan-san" or "Ivan-sama".

Following the Okama way, Ivankov values friendship and commitments above all else. He seems to find great motivation in helping his friends and subordinates, and is willing to risk his life for their well-being, as seen when he went into a blind rage against Kuma, upon realising that he had attacked his "choupinous".
He also believes that people should be whatever they want to be, whether it’s a man, a woman, or an Okama. He is very strong and very open, even perverse, about his ideals. He doesn’t care about the objections of others to his actions; he even turned a man who had tried to kill him into a woman because the man had previously declared his opposition to Ivankov’s morals. (After this, the man-turned-woman was so embarrassed that he fled immediately). Ivankov also asserts that despite what is said about him, he is not a good Samaritan and doesn’t help just anyone. However, he acknowledges that he was moved by Luffy’s words of friendship and hope and believes that his life is worth saving.
He thinks that "miracles" only come to those who never give up, that there are also people who choose not to rely on others to live, and that these people are not worthy of being saved. After that, he always questions the people he saves about their "will to live". Furthermore, he seems to be perceptive and capable of diagnosing a person’s health just by observing them for a few moments. Ivankov is also able to estimate the "price" to be paid by someone who wishes to use the powers of his Devil Fruit. He is also very observant and can quickly read people, as he was able to guess that Dragon had family on the East Blue when Dragon was with him on a balcony.
Before meeting Luffy, he showed no interest in wanting to escape from prison. He stated that he wanted to escape when Dragon and the revolutionaries would overthrow the World Government. However, when Ivankov learned that Luffy was Dragon's son, he decided to help him save Ace, given his duty towards his "comrade", Dragon. Later, he flew into a rage when Kuma didn’t recognise him, and before learning that Kuma had been fully transformed into a Pacifista, asserting at the same time that no one could forget his face.
He also tends to call people by their name, nickname, or characteristic followed by "boy" (for example, he calls Mr. 2 Bon Clay "Bon-boy" and Crocodile "Croco-boy"). Iva often shouts "Hee Haw!" (In the Shonen Jump translation, he shouts "Yeehaaa!").
Laughing Style
Like other characters in One Piece, Ivankov has his own laughing style, "Mmmfufufu!"
Abilities and Skills
Ivankov is an incredibly powerful being. Indeed, he is a commander of the Revolutionary Army, the strongest of the Okama, and the master of New Kama Kenpo (which is similar to Jinbe's Fish-Man Karate). He is also the leader of a powerful army of Okama. He calmly states that he will escape from Impel Down when the revolutionaries overthrow the World Government. He is capable of fighting on equal terms with the Warlord Bartholomew Kuma and emerging unscathed from his Pacifista beams, demonstrating his superhuman endurance. He also possesses superhuman strength, whether in his male or female form, as shown in his battle against Sadi. His fighting style is based on his Devil Fruit powers and, above all, on New Kama Kenpo, an improved version of Bon Clay's Kama Kenpo (or "travelo punch"). One could also say that his fighting style is quite "eccentric", as he spends half of his time making jokes or sometimes charging at his opponent, neglecting his defence.
Ivankov also seems to have advanced knowledge in medicine, being able to diagnose a person's health conditions by observing them for just a few moments. Ivankov is also capable of estimating the "price" to be paid by someone who wishes to use the powers of his Devil Fruit. Furthermore, Ivankov constantly wears a thick, very thick layer of makeup that acts as a "helmet" and is capable of protecting him from Magellan's highly corrosive poison or Akainu's magma. However, this mask is for single use only!

Devil Fruit
Ivankov has eaten the Horu Horu no Mi, or Horm-Horm Fruit, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him/her to inject any dose of any hormone. He/She can change a person’s sex, enhance growth (e.g. making their head bigger...), and even provide extra energy. This kind of "doping" has side effects and is extremely difficult for the body to endure, which is why he doesn't want to use it on his friend Inazuma. He can also use healing hormones, but these take ten years off a person’s lifespan, so they are not to be taken lightly... This Paramecia-type ability allows him, thanks to the tips of his fingers turned into stingers, to change a person’s sex, alleviate fatigue, or heal. This ability is the main reason why Ivankov is nicknamed "The Miracle Maker". He can also transform himself into a woman, a form in which he appears more "human" (his male form being rough and "super deformed"), and seems also more skilled and powerful in close combat. However, he has the ability to enlarge his head, a significant advantage since Ivankov’s primary weapon is his wink, with which he can deflect projectiles.
Newkama Kenpo
This is the fighting style mastered by Ivankov and used by the rest of his Okama. Similar to karate, New Kama Kenpo appears to be an enhanced version of Bon Clay's Travelo Punch (indeed, Ivankov’s blows seem to be more powerful, although his size and musculature may contribute to this). This technique was capable of injuring Magellan and knocking Sanji out. The various attacks Ivankov uses resemble Bon Clay’s Travelo Punch but are more focused on cosmetics and aesthetic surgery. Ivankov's most favoured attack is the Death Wink, which consists of a wink that generates a powerful pink gust. It may seem ridiculous, but it is powerful, like the rest of the New Kama Kenpo techniques.
Attacks
- Death Wink: A powerful gust of wind released by a wink, capable of deflecting a shell or countering the attacks of the Pacifista.
- Hell Wink: A Death Wink whose power has been increased by an injection of facial growth hormones.
- Ganmen Spectrum: Ivankov spins around rapidly and creates reflections of his head all around him.
- Galaxy Wink: Several Death Winks launched after a Facial Spectrum. (A technique capable of repelling a Pacifista).
- Newkama Kenpo: 44 no Aesthe Ogi - Mudade Shori Ken (44 Transcendental Arcanes of Newkama Kenpo - Fatal Epilatory Shock): A series of rapid, powerful finger strikes. (Used against Magellan).
- Kick (anime only): A powerful kick, this technique has no name. It is capable of repelling a Pacifista (PX-0).
- Newkama Kenpo: 44 no Aesthe Ogi - Laser Chiryo Ken (anime only) (44 Transcendental Arcanes of Newkama Kenpo - Surgical Laser Fist): Ivankov extends the "needles" from his fingers and performs a series of movements that cut through what’s in front of him like a surgical laser. This technique is strong enough to cut through rock, but when Ivankov used it on Akainu, his "needles" (which he calls his nails) began to melt due to Akainu's magma.
- Newkama Kenpo: 44 no Aesthe Ogi - Shibo Kyuin Ken (anime only) (44 Transcendental Arcanes of Newkama Kenpo - Lip-O-Suction): Ivankov spins around and charges headfirst and mouth-first at his enemy to kiss them. The exact purpose of this technique is unknown, as it was stopped by Akainu.

Trivialities
Ivankov's appearance is largely inspired by Dr Frank N. Furter from the 1975 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show. There are several similarities between the two characters:
- One has blue hair and black makeup, while the other has black hair and blue makeup.
- Both wear a thick-beaded necklace at the base of their neck.
- They both wear a garter belt and gloves, as well as a tight-fitting outfit.
- Ivankov’s and Dr Frank N. Furter’s entrances are similar. (They both arrive from the end of the room to walk onto a stage and begin singing).
- The fact that Ivankov calls those he likes his "candies" in the Japanese version is a reference to a song from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. In the song "Sweet Transvestite", Frank-N-Furter says, "He thought you were the candy man.
