Ciel Phantomhive
The Earl Ciel Phantomhive (シエル ファントム ハイヴ, Shieru Fantomuhaivu) is the head of the noble Phantomhive family and the owner of the Phantom Company, specialising in the manufacture of toys and confectionery. Notoriously known as the Queen's Watchdog, he is the son of Vincent and Rachel Phantomhive. Ciel is the main protagonist of the Kuroshitsuji series.

We later learn that he had an identical twin brother, Ciel Phantomhive, the true heir to the Phantomhive family. The character we know assumed the identity of the Earl Ciel Phantomhive after his death, in order to preserve the story and memory of his brilliant brother, for whom he had great admiration. He made a pact with Sebastian in order to gain the strength to live up to what his brother would have been. His true name remains unknown. Therefore, this page is not that of the true Earl Ciel Phantomhive.
Appearance Ciel is rather short in stature, with dark grey hair tinged with blue-green, and heterochromatic eyes: his left eye is ocean blue, while the right is violet, decorated with a pentacle, the symbol of his pact with Sebastian, which the latter bears identically on his left hand.
His close family often says that he has his mother's face. At birth, he apparently also had his father's nose.
Ciel always wears a black eyepatch to conceal the mark of his contract, and he is always dressed elegantly (he owns many suits). However, he sometimes needs to dress differently for certain missions (he has to cross-dress during the Jack the Ripper case or appear as a pauper during the Circus arc).
The young Earl bears a brand that was burned into his skin by his kidnappers, located on his back at the side.
Personality Ciel is cold, detached from life and the people around him, except for his fiancée, Elizabeth, the Marchioness of Midford, for whom he is very protective.
He is naturally calm, thoughtful, and welcoming towards his guests, always receiving them warmly (although this is a façade). During his investigations, he can also be deceitful and arrogant. Loyal to his role as Her Majesty’s Hound, he never questions her desires and ensures she remains at ease... But he hides behind these duties to do as he pleases when he investigates, and often in an immoral way.
As a noble and head of the Phantomhive family, Ciel is accustomed to a luxurious lifestyle and detests living in poor or dirty conditions. He struggles with household chores and even with dressing himself, as Sebastian handles these tasks daily in his role as butler. When he gives an order, he expects it to be carried out perfectly, especially when addressing Sebastian.
He doesn't particularly like cats due to his allergy, and he prefers dogs instead.
Ciel is rather fragile and has a weak constitution. He has a delicate, small frame, which makes him feel self-conscious, and he is mediocre at physical activities (he struggles with stretching in Book of Circus).
