Avalo Pizarro

Avalo Pizarro

Avalo Pizarro, also known as "The Tyrant King," is one of the criminals sentenced to life imprisonment in Level 6 of Impel Down; his crimes being so atrocious, he had to be erased from history. He was freed from the Great Prison by Marshall D. Teach and joined his crew, the Blackbeard Pirates.

He is currently one of the Ten Titanic Captains and the captain of the fourth fleet of the Blackbeard Pirates.

Appearance

Unlike the other escapees from Impel Down (except Shiliew), he does not wear a prison uniform. Instead, he dons a long coat made of white and brown fur with black patterns.

He exhibits feline-like features; his eyes are slanted, similar to a cat, and his turquoise hair resembles a mane. He has white horns attached to his head via black metallic plates underneath. His mustache is a paler blue than the rest of his hair, very large, and hangs down to his shoulders.

His arms have, so far, always been somewhat obscured. At one point, however, he can be seen wearing black gauntlets with a spiral design, unlike in the anime, where he wore dark, metallic bronze gloves.

Additionally, he is taller than most of his companions, who are already quite tall for humans.

After the time skip, he wears a hat resembling a crown.

Personality

Short Roi Nika - One Piece™

Until now, he has always been seen smiling, even when attacking Whitebeard. He also tends to end his sentences with "Nya", the Japanese equivalent of "meow". He has also shown a desire to take the lead, once boldly asking (in a playful manner) Blackbeard, his captain, to let him command the crew.

He tends to use the word "Miaw" (Nya in Japanese), as if meowing.

Abilities and Skills

His abilities have not yet been revealed, but he was evidently strong enough to be held in Level 6 of Impel Down. Additionally, when Blackbeard recruited prisoners from that level, he was one of the few survivors from a deadly battle between the inmates held in neighboring cells. Thus, Pizarro is one of the four strongest prisoners in Level 6 of Impel Down.

His endurance is superhuman, having shown no signs of being affected by a shockwave from Sengoku in his Buddha form.

The unexpected arrival of Moria, which was highly noticeable, did not seem to bother him much. He commented on Moria’s status while casually eating a chicken leg.

Devil Fruit

Pizarro has consumed the Shima Shima no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to merge entirely with an island, giving him complete control over his surroundings.

Weapons

In the manga, no weapon has been seen in his hands, as his arms have never been clearly shown. However, in the anime, he was seen wielding flintlock rifles against Whitebeard.

History

Past
Avalo Pizarro once ruled his own kingdom in North Blue. However, having abusively used his powers to achieve his own goals, he was eventually overthrown by his people. He became one of the most feared criminals in the world, but was ultimately captured by the World Government.

Sentenced to life imprisonment in Level 6 of Impel Down, it was intended that his existence be erased from history. Not much is known about his past. Given that he does not wear the usual prison uniform, it can be inferred that he was recently sent to Impel Down, similar to Ace and Jinbe.

Saga: War of the Best | Whitebeard War

Impel Down Arc

On the orders of Marshall D. Teach, Pizarro engages in a life-and-death battle with the other inmates in his cell to secure his release. Emerging victorious, he is able to join the Blackbeard Pirates.

Marine Ford Arc

Avalo Pizarro later reappears at Marine Ford, alongside the Blackbeard Pirates and other criminals who were recruited. Together, they participate in the assassination of Whitebeard (with the exception of Sanjuan Wolf). Once Whitebeard dies, Pizarro helps his crewmates cover the body of the deceased with black cloth and watches as Blackbeard tests his newfound power.

Along with the rest of the crew, he is struck by a shockwave caused by Sengoku in his Buddha form. Later, after the arrival of Shanks, come to end the war, he leaves the battlefield with his crewmates.

Post-Marine Ford Arc

After the Marine Ford war, he is seen with the rest of the crew on a fiery island in the New World, waiting for a Marine ship in exchange for Jewelry Bonney, whom they captured. Pizarro jokingly suggests taking Blackbeard's place as captain. Laffite reminds him in response that this is the Blackbeard Pirates, asking if he intends to die. They flee following the arrival of the Marine Fleet Admiral: Akainu.

During the Time Skip

During the two-year time skip, the Blackbeard Pirates used their captain's knowledge to conquer the former territories of Whitebeard. Now that Blackbeard has become one of the Four Emperors, the Blackbeard pirates are hunting down powerful Devil Fruit users in order to absorb their abilities.

Yonko Saga
Zo Arc

During the Zo Arc, it is revealed that the Blackbeard Pirates secured a major victory over the former Whitebeard Pirates in a war called the "War of Vengeance." Apparently, this war helped solidify Blackbeard's position as an Emperor!

Tougato Arc

In the journal read by Pedro, it is learned that Blackbeard and his crew have completely destroyed Baltigo, the Revolutionary HQ. Once the Marine and Cipher Pol discovered the island's location, they rushed to it. Blackbeard and his men engaged in battle with Cipher Pol, but they ultimately fled.

Reverie Arc

Following the events in the Totto Land Archipelago, Avalo Pizarro is seen alongside Blackbeard as he reads the newspaper reporting recent events involving Monkey D. Luffy.

Wano Kuni Arc

He is seen on Pirate Island, a pirate island under Blackbeard’s service. It is also revealed during his appearance that he is the captain of Blackbeard's fourth fleet. His men report to him about Gecko Moria’s unexpected visit after noticing the commotion.

Egg Head Island Arc

A few weeks after Blackbeard kidnapped Koby and brought him to Hachinosu, riots broke out on the island. However, he managed to escape from prison with the help of Perona. Many other prisoners escaped with him, whom Corby didn’t want to leave behind. Pizarro noticed the chaos thanks to his Devil Fruit powers, but he chose not to intervene to avoid damaging the city. When Vasco Shot suggested burning the city to stop the escape, Pizarro reprimanded him, reminding him that Blackbeard would surely be angry about it. Moreover, the Rocky Port had just been repaired. Shortly after, the island was suddenly infiltrated by the Marines. The Blackbeard pirates had to watch as a Marine ship sailed through the sky to the center of the island, where Vice-Admiral Garp launched a devastating attack that destroyed the city.

Major Battles

  • Blackbeard Pirates vs Magellan = Victory (unseen)
  • Blackbeard Pirates vs Whitebeard = Victory
  • Blackbeard Pirates vs Sengoku and Garp = Interrupted by Shanks
  • Blackbeard Pirates vs Bonney Pirates = Victory (unseen)
