The 5 best quotes of Takemichi!
Tokyo Revengers is a gripping anime series following Takemichi Hanagaki, a young man who discovers he has the power to leap through time. Determined to rewrite a tragic future, he uses this ability to save those he loves from certain death. His mission leads him into the heart of the Tokyo Manji Gang (Toman), where he faces constant danger but finds the courage to forge deep bonds and finally believe in himself.
As the emotional anchor of the series, Takemichi has delivered some of the most powerful and heart-wrenching lines in Tokyo Revengers history.

5/ "Stop acting like you're a couple of stupid punks. Look what you bastards have done to all my precious memories. You selfish idiots have just destroyed everything I've ever loved from my entire childhood."
When Takemichi first crossed paths with Draken and Mikey, the respect was far from mutual. Following Pah-chin's arrest, the two leaders visited Takemichi while embroiled in a bitter dispute over Pah's fate. Their argument quickly escalated into a physical brawl, with the two powerhouses carelessly destroying Takemichi's childhood belongings as they fought.
Pushed to his limit, Takemichi finally stood his ground and shouted these words. His raw honesty caught them off guard, leading to a much-needed reconciliation. This moment served as the true beginning of their friendship, as Mikey and Draken began to see Takemichi as an equal rather than just another subordinate.
4/ "That's not true, Naoto. The reason our rescue of Draken didn't change anything is because his death wasn't the reason Toman became evil. When Hina died right in front of me, I realized something as I watched the flames rise. We must attack the source. Eliminate Toman! This can happen if I become Toman's leader in the past."

After witnessing Hinata’s horrific death once again, Takemichi swore to return to the past as many times as necessary to save her. At her funeral, a discouraged Naoto suggested their efforts were futile. This quote was Takemichi’s resolute response, marking a massive shift in his strategy.
While Naoto was initially skeptical that a "crybaby hero" could ever rise to the top of a violent gang, Takemichi’s unwavering conviction convinced him to try one more time. Together, they renewed their pact to strike at the heart of Toman's corruption and change history forever.
3/ "Stop it! What the hell are you talking about? Who's the crazy one here, Akkun? I don't even recognize you, man! You were always so cool, calm and collected. You were always willing to sacrifice yourself for your friends. You were kind. We could count on you! So, then, it must be a lie. I can't believe you would ever try to kill me. You are my friend, Akkun!"

In one of the series' most tragic encounters, Takemichi reunited with Akkun in the present, only to learn a dark secret: it was Akkun who had pushed him onto the train tracks at the start of the story. Driven by fear of Kisaki Tetta, Takemichi's old friend had become a shadow of his former self.
Shocked and heartbroken, Takemichi pleaded with Akkun, trying to reach the kind-hearted boy he once knew. These words were a desperate attempt to bridge the gap between their past and the grim present. Before taking his own life, Akkun entrusted Takemichi with the ultimate mission: to go back, stay strong, and save everyone from the darkness that Toman had become.
2/ "I did my best, Hina. It hurts, it sucks, but I really did my best to make things right, and yet, and yet, I didn't change anything at all! I didn't manage to save anyone! But then, what else did I expect? How on earth was a complete and utter failure like me ever supposed to have a snowball's chance in hell of saving anyone? How stupid can I be?"

Believing he had secured peace between Mikey and Draken, Takemichi momentarily lowered his guard. However, he soon realized that the danger to Draken’s life was still looming on the fateful night of August 3rd. Caught and brutally beaten by Kiyomasa, Takemichi was left bound and defeated, drowning in his own perceived inadequacy.
When Hinata found him and heard his agonizing confession of failure, she didn't see a loser—she saw a hero who had never stopped fighting. Her support and their first kiss gave Takemichi the strength to stand back up and face Kiyomasa once more, proving that his "best" was more than enough.
1/ "In the future, in the past, always and forever. I will love you."
After returning to a present where he believed he had finally succeeded, Takemichi was reunited with Hinata. However, the joy was short-lived. A terrifying encounter with Hanma revealed that history was still repeating itself. In a tragic sequence, Takemichi watched as a car driven by a brainwashed Akkun crashed into the vehicle carrying Hinata.
Trapped in the wreckage with no way to escape the impending explosion, Takemichi held Hina one last time and whispered this eternal vow. This powerful moment of love and despair served as his ultimate fuel, solidifying his resolve to never stop leaping through time until a future exists where she is alive and smiling.
