The 10 Best Quotes from Uraraka in MHA!

My Hero Academia, in recent years, has surpassed many competitors to become one of the most popular anime and manga series of all time.

The story takes place in a future where four-fifths of the population possess some sort of 'Quirk,' a superhuman ability, leading society to establish a hero system. Much of the action unfolds at U.A. High School, the institution where many of the main characters train to become better heroes.

Ochaco Uraraka is one of the standout students at this school. She is a lively, sociable, and genuinely heroic individual, and she has shared some of the most inspiring and motivating lines in the series as she strives to become a successful hero.

'Giving up is not an option for me!'

Ochaco is one of the most innocent characters in My Hero Academia, but she fully understands her responsibilities as a hero. Inspired by her peers, she adopts the same determination to never give up, partly motivated by her desire to use her hero earnings to provide a better life for her parents – a truly noble cause.

"What would Deku do in a situation like this?"

Ochaco can sometimes be slow to make decisions, but in this particular instance (against Thirteen during the final exam), she overcomes her indecision by wondering what Deku, whom she admires, would do in her place. This reflection helps her regain her composure and put the situation into perspective.

"Everyone is doing their best, so it’s only fair that I do the same."

During the school festival, Ochaco sees Iida and Deku splitting up and forming separate teams despite their friendship, which encourages her to do the same so she doesn’t rely on others' strengths. She wants to carve her own path to the finals, showcasing her individual abilities without being influenced by the talents of others.

"I’m going to train as hard as he does."

Once again, Ochaco’s primary source of motivation is her peers. This is especially evident in later episodes where she works alongside Pro Heroes – she relies on them to encourage her in accomplishing her mission. Throughout the anime, she is often torn between the desire to be independent and the need to seek advice, but she has found a healthy way to balance both. She has decided to train as intensely as Deku to reach his level by developing her own strengths.

"I’m going to become a hero."

And here it is. Ochaco’s assertion of her capabilities, an unshakable declaration driven by the support of her friends and parents, as well as her desire to help others – the very reason she chose to become a hero. Many young heroes in My Hero Academia have expressed this same wish, but none with such conviction.

"And because of that, you’re acting so threatening..."

Despite her naive demeanor, Ochaco is one of the most observant students in Class 1-A. When she notices that Bakugo behaves more aggressively towards Deku than he does with others, she correctly identifies that it stems from his fear and his sense of being threatened by Deku’s power and ambition.

"I must stay calm and careful."

Ochaco is confident in her belief that she will one day become an extraordinary hero, but that doesn’t stop her from needing to remind herself of what she must do. Positive affirmation is what drives her to succeed, whether through her own initiative or with the support of others, and it often leads her to repeat lines like this for inspiration.

"I’ve only just started!"

Like the other young heroes in Class 1-A, Ochaco’s journey is far from over. Although her lofty ambitions may be tested by time, her optimistic personality and her desire to succeed, even in the most challenging situations, will always remain. In fact, she has only just begun.

"Let’s all work hard together and laugh together again!"

This quote comes during the episode "Moving into the Dorms," where the students face the consequences of their actions during the previous attack arc. By the end of the episode, Tsuyu admits she’s struggling to deal with everything that has happened, which leads Ochaco (always the peacekeeper) to try to reconcile everyone so they can laugh together once more.

"I’m going to win! I’m going to win and be like Deku too!"

Ochaco says this during her battle with Bakugo in the combat tournament of the U.A. sports festival (a fight she loses, though she gives it her all). She repeats this phrase during her confrontation with Himiko Toga, when Toga talks about wanting to be like someone else – a desire that has a literal application in Toga’s Quirk, but can also be interpreted metaphorically as Ochaco’s idolization of Deku. For better or worse, wanting to be like someone else is what drives Ochaco to take action.
