Kage is one of the most beloved characters from Ranking of Kings (Ousama Ranking). As the sole survivor of the infamous Shadow Clan from the Bo Kingdom, he starts his journey as a cynical thief, only to become the loyal shadow, best friend, and protector of Prince Bojji.

Appearance & Personality
Kage appears as a silhouette—a small, flat black puddle with two expressive blue eyes. He can manifest arms from his body at will, and a third arm serves as his mouth. Despite his "hardened criminal" act, Kage is deeply empathetic. While he began their relationship by robbing Bojji, he quickly realized the Prince's struggles and became his most devoted ally, often serving as the "voice of reason" during their adventures.
The Tragic Path of a Shadow
Flight from the Bo Kingdom
Kage’s childhood ended when the nobility of the Bo Kingdom orchestrated the massacre of the Shadow Clan. His mother sacrificed herself to allow him to escape. Guided by the young Countess Poise, Kage survived by crossing a toxic forest, leaving his homeland behind forever.
Life as a Thief's Assistant
Wandering alone, Kage was shunned by a fearful public until he met "The Thief." Kage treated this man as a father figure, cooking and cleaning for him with unwavering loyalty. However, the thief was a cruel drunkard who eventually sold Kage to the authorities. After the thief's death, Kage was left truly alone, forced to roam the countryside as a nomadic thief until he reached the Kingdom of Bosse.

The Bond That Changed Everything
Meeting Bojji
Kage was shocked to find that he could understand Bojji perfectly, despite the Prince being deaf and mute. This connection turned a simple robbery into a lifelong friendship. Kage was eventually recruited by Bebin of the Big Four to serve as Bojji’s secret bodyguard during his travels, a role he fulfilled with absolute bravery.
Training in the Underworld
After saving Bojji from the "Gates of Hell" following Domas’s betrayal, Kage led the Prince to the Underworld. There, they met Despa. While Bojji trained to become the strongest man in the world, Kage supported him by managing their domestic life, ensuring Bojji could focus entirely on his growth.
The Final Battle and Sacrifice
During the invasion of the Bosse Kingdom, Kage faced the immortal Ouken. In a moment of extreme despair, Kage unlocked a latent Shadow Clan ability, growing to a massive size to swallow the villain. He nearly died in the process, briefly reuniting with his mother in the afterlife before being brought back by Miranjo. His sacrifice allowed Bojji to eventually secure the kingdom.
